Brayden- chapter 6.

finally i can post the next part :)

When the moon completely took over, it grew too cold to sit around a fire, so we walked inside and squeezed onto the couch to share a bowl of popcorn over a movie. None of us even knew what the movie was, we were all just too lazy to grab the remote off the top of the TV.

Zac was the first one to fall asleep. He laid his head on the arm rest with his legs curled up towards his chin and let out heavy breaths of air. He looked like a cute little boy in my opinion.
We talked in whispers not wanting to wake up Zac. Erik told a story about
himself when he was in prep school and how all the boys never let their book bags touch the ground or walk in the dirt with their leather shoes. Erik was known as a bad kid because he walked in the dirt or put his bag on the floor and didn’t care. I would’ve done it myself, what’s the big deal? Zac shifted his body, wrapping his body around the arm rest. We all froze and chuckled.
“Let’s move into the kitchen.” Matt said.
The kitchen felt colder with the tile floors and bay windows around it. Although I was walking around in just my bikini bottom and Brayden’s sweat shirt. I took a glance at the clock on the stove, it was 1:24. I was taking we were staying the night. Laura disappeared upstairs around two, I assumed she went to sleep. I kept yawning, wishing I was lying in a bed also. Matt must’ve noticed it.
“Sleepy?” I looked up still yawning and shook my head yes. “There’s a bed upstairs if you wanna go up.” I didn’t hesitate.
“I’ll go show her where it’s at. Be back down in a minute.” Brayden said. He walked me up to the room, just right of the stairs. This room was plainer than the other one. The walls were a dark night blue and the bed and dressers were the only things white. He tucked me in and kissed me goodnight. “I’ll be up soon.”
I tried to close my eyes and keep them that way, but they always seemed to open to search for Brayden. I rolled over trying to get in the cold spots of the bed or to sleep in a new position, but it never put me to sleep. Finally, I made a body out
of the pillows and slept on that.

I opened my eyes to the sun coming through the blinds in the morning. Brayden was next to me this time, sound asleep. It was only quarter to nine and I expected someone to be up, but the house was dead silent. I sat up and slouched over the side of the bed. My hair felt disgusting and I could smell an odor just rising off my skin. I tip toed out of the room and down to the bathroom at the end of the hall. A shower felt nice, almost like I hadn’t taken one in three years. I sat in it, letting my fingers turn to prunes. When I looked up, I closed my eyes and my parents popped into my head. What if my Dad actually gets into another accident? Or moms gonna leave my Dad? I cringed just to the thought of it. Where would I even be if my parents split up? It was all questions I couldn’t answer even if I tried. I turned the water off, climbed out, wrapped myself in a towel, and tip toed back to my room. Brayden was still asleep but more sprawled out. He has THE longest arms, my god. I changed in the corned back into my bikini and Bray’s sweatshirt over it then crawled back into bed and lay over his arm.
“Why are you all wet?” his voice startled me the way it was all grungy.
“I took a shower.” He slipped his arm out from underneath me and stretched, pulling all the sheets off. “Oh,” he seemed puzzled by my answer. Maybe he was just getting used to the light or something. “What..” he looked around the room with his eyes squinting, then back to me. “What time is it?”
“Almost 9:30?”
“We’ll leave for home at noon, k?” He wanted to sleep more, I could tell. And to be honest, I didn’t really want to leave, especially go back and deal with my parent’s drama, but you don’t get everything in life. Right? I simply smiled and kissed him on the cheek after I pulled the covers back over him.

Matt came down as I was watching TV, trying to keep my distance away from Zac  incase of any disturbance of his beauty sleep.
“Morning.” He said taking the seat next to me, also trying to keep distance from Zac.
“Good morning.” I smiled back.
“Where’s Brayden?”
“Still asleep.” We both answered at the same time then laughed.
Zac’s eyes opened and he sat up wiping the drool trail along the side of his cheek. “I have to pee..” He walked off somewhere down the hall and I heard him say “ew” after the door shut behind him.
“Okay..”
I looked at Mtt, trying to picture him and Laura at a younger age, hanging out with all their friends, but still dating, holding hands and looking at each other with smirks on their face while everyone else was running around laughing their heads off and they didn’t care, to them it was just themselves and no one else. I wondered if me and Brayden would last just as long, longer if even, and be like that. Erik walked into the kitchen while Zac, Matt and I were having a bowl of
cereal. He grabbed a seat and joined us with a full plate of waffles. I was pretty much done with my bowl of Captain Crunch, so I scooted away from the table to go and wake Brayden up.
When I got close to the door, I heard voices from inside the room. I opened the door and saw Laura sitting on the bed next to Brayden. She was saying something but stopped when I had walked in. She put her hand over her mouth and scurried out the room smiling.
“Did you hear any of that?” He was some what smiling.
“No?”
    Something was going on.
